Amelie, a striking shawl knitted with a stranded method creating a fabulous two color ribbon motif.
The shape is a rectangle. Well, sort of. Knitted sideways, it starts out with a simple garter stitch edge, followed by two stranded ribbon motifs across, the middle section is done with a very relaxing garter and stockinette ribbed pattern. Finally, the shawl gets increased towards the opposite end where you work three stranded ribbon motifs.
There are striking color combinations to choose from and each kit has enough yardage to increase the size from 54" in length as shown, to 60". The middle section measures 17" in height.
The pattern is fully written, offers a chart for the stranded motif and a video link on how to catch the floats in the back.
The knit kits include
- 4 skeins of Bambon. C1- 3 skeins for the main color and C2 - 1 skein as contrast color. 154 yards a skein in a DK weight. It is one of our favorite yarns to use as the stitch definition is just wonderful in this soft bamboo and cotton blend yarn.

Notions needed
- US size 8 (4.5 mm) circular needle, 32" (81 cm) in length.
- 2 Stitch markers
- Darning needle or crochet hook for finishing
Gauge: 7 sts and 9 rows in 2" of stockinette stitch.
Techniques to try: Knitting, purling, ribbing, two color stranded knitting, increasing, stretchy bind off, weaving in ends and blocking.
