The Tyne poncho
The poncho is knitted from the top down, first with the smooth Organic cotton yarn creating a casual rolled neckline. From there it grows into the colorful stripes done with our exclusive Yarnology yarn which has 7 changes of colors, textures and even yarn weights. It is both, knitted in the round and then flat to create the front slit that then gets embellished with a bulky Chenille yarn.
The feel is open, airy and really soft too, aside of being incredibly comfortable. Wear the slit in the middle or over to the side to mix things up a bit.
The knit kits include
- C1- Organic cotton, 125 yards/50 grams in a DK weight.
- C2- Yarnology, weights range from lace, fingering, sport, DK and either worsted or bulky weights as well as seven color and texture changes. 238 yards/50 to 75 grams per skein. Note every skein is exactly alike, which is what makes them special.
- C3- Chenille yarn, a mini skein with 14 yards in a bulky weight.
- The printed pattern and emailed PDF file.
- All packaged in a convenient project bag.
Notions needed
- US size 6 (4 mm) circular needle 20" (51 cm) in length
- US size 10 (8 mm) circular needle 26" (91 cm) in length
- One stitch marker
- Tapestry needle or crochet hook for finishing
Gauge: 12 sts and 13 rows in 4" of stockinette stitch with needle
Techniques applied: Knitting and purling in the round and flat, increasing, changing needles, changing yarns, stretchy bind off, weaving in ends, a simple crochet stitch finish around slit, blocking.
