Each skein is hand wound, holds 160 yards (57 grams), consisting of 3 strands of yarns with two thick and thin cottons, adding the pebble textures and a straight smooth mercerized cotton providing stability. They can be tone on tone colors and some may feature two or even three colors. Together they do create a DK weight.
