Palila - Tahitian for “with a spirit as free as a bird.”

I think the name describes this shawl beautifully. It is easy to knit and with exciting bright colors, reminding us of tropical birds. Of course we have lots of color combos to choose fro including more muted ones. It even is of a crescent shape and you can just imagine the wings here...

The shawl is knitted from the top down and increases steadily with a single Lightly skein in a brand new color way called "Psychedelic".  From there you knit the wide bottom border with one of our new Delicate skeins in "Lagoon" colors and create a fresh Polka dot lace design.

The pattern is fully written and also has a lace chart.

The blocked size measures 76" in overall length and 17" in middle height.

Knit kits include

  • C1- One skein of Lightly, a mostly lace weight yarn with 7 color/texture changes all wound to perfection to make your projects colorful and exciting. 238 yards in cottons, linens, rayons and combinations thereof.
  • C2- One skein of Delicate, a new yarn specially arranged yarn with 3 strands in sometimes coordinating and sometimes contrasting colors all wound together, left un-plied. 220 yards of sport weight yarn in cotton/linen and rayon.
  • The printed pattern and emailed PDF file.
  • A free matching your color choice bird shaped shawl pin.
  • All packaged in a convenient project bag.
