The new Newport hat is richly textured knitted with a single Easy care chunky cake, it is also washable.
It's an interesting knit, it involves not one but two cable needles. No worry though it sounds more complicated than it is, you'll get the hang of it after doing a couple of repeats. The end result is great though, kind off a bit intense.
The question is, do you want a Pom on yours or not? Here is a great compromise. The big fluffy Pom seen in the photos comes with a snap on button, so you can show off a Pom one day and the next you just take it off. Sounds good? The pattern is fully written for this knitted in the round hat, measuring 20" and 22" in circumference, 9" and 10" in height. Both sizes can be knitted with one skein

Notions needed
- US size 10.5 (6.5 mm) circular needle 16" (40 cm) in length.
- Stitch marker to mark beginning of rounds.
- Two cable needles.
- Tapestry needle for finishing.
Techniques applied: Knitting and purling in the round, cable knitting with two cable needles (not a problem), decreasing, cinching the crown stitches together with tapestry needle, weaving in ends, adding optional pom.
Gauge: 12 sts and 19 rows in 4" of stockinette stitch.
