The Binault cowl. Gorgeous cable patterns knitted with an incredible yarn keep your neck comfortably warm for the season.

If it looks familiar to you,  it is the mate of the earlier published Binault poncho, see the photo below.

This beauty is knitted in the round and from the bottom up with two beautiful cable patterns. The cowl pattern has been amended a bit from the top part of the poncho to get a tighter fit.

The pattern is fully written and charted.

Unblocked as shown here in my sample the size is:  8" in height and  22" in circumference with extra give.

The knit kits include:

  • 1 Bambon skein, a DK weight in a luxurious 40% bamboo/60% cotton mix. 154 yards a skein/100 grams.
  • The printed pattern and emailed PDF file.
  • All packaged in a convenient project bag.

Notions used:

  • US size 7 (4.5 mm) circular needle 16" (40 cm) in length
  • Stitch markers, one to mark the beginning of the round and 2 to mark the pattern repeats.
  • Cable needle
  • Darning needle or crochet hook for finishing.

Gauge: 16 sts and 19 rounds in 4" of Stockinette stitch

Techniques used: Knitting and purling in the round, cable knitting, binding off weaving in ends and optional blocking.

Level of Expertise: Intermediate

Happy knitting!
