A soft organic cotton is the perfect yarn for this. The shape is actually squarish, knitted in the round it decreases towards the middle which gives it four elongated points. It gets a circular stitch treatment with the main color yarn at the very end.
The final dimensions are 9" by 9". The pattern is fully written.

Notions needed
- US size 4 (3.5 mm) circular needle 16" (41cm) in length.
- 4 Stitch markers.
- Tapestry needle for finishing.
Gauge: 19 sts and 36 rows in 4" of garter stitch, counting 18 ridges.
Techniques applied: Knitting in the round, changing colors leaving both yarns attached in the back throughout, decreasing, binding off, weaving in ends, stitching around the middle, blocking.
