This is a great set to knit, the new Thornley cowl and fingerless mittens can both be knitted with the knit kit. The cowl is knitted with a single strand, the mittens with the yarn held double in a simple one by one rib stitch pattern.
The cowl is knitted in the round from the top down and later flat to create the slit. The mittens are knitted flat and later seamed. Very easy knits with great textures.
The pattern is fully written.
The cowls dimension are 19" in diameter, 12" in length. The mittens measure 6" in length and 4"around seamed.
The knit kits include
- 2 Allero skeins. Each a light worsted weight in a mix of cotton and acrylic. 154 yards/50 grams a skein. This yarn has great stitch definition.
- The printed pattern and emailed PDF file.
- All packaged in a convenient project bag.

- US 6 (4 mm) circular needle 20" (51 cm) in length
- One stitch marker
- Tapestry needle for finishing
Gauge: Cowl 19 sts and 25 rows in 4" of 1X1 rib pattern, single strand. Mittens 12 sts and 23 rows in 4" of 1X1 rib pattern, double strand.
Techniques applied: Knitting and purling in the round and flat, binding off, mittens get seamed, weaving in ends. Blocking is optional, the sample shown are not blocked.
