The Cakewalk top is the perfect lightweight summer top. It's as comfy and cool as it looks and the drape is incredible.
The knitting is easy and quick with four pieces knitted in stockinette, garter and one with a simple slipped stitch. You can adjust the neckline to fit you perfectly. Simple seams join the pieces.
The pattern is fully written. The sizes range from 34/36/38" to 40/42/44/46/48/50/52" with a positive ease of 6" to 10" worked into the pattern.
The knit kits include
- Linen skeins, a 50/50 blend of linen/viscose. Each skein hold 197 yards in a fingering weight. C1 for the body uses 3, 4 skeins, C2 and 3 are used for the sleeves, 1 skein each for all sizes.
- Printed pattern and emailed PDF file.
- All packaged in a convenient project bag.
Notions needed
- US size 10 (6 mm) circular needle 36" (91 cm) in length.
- 5 Lockable stitch markers for finishing.
- Tapestry needle for finishing.
Gauge: 12 sts and 18 rows in 4" of stockinette stitch.
Techniques applied: Knitting, purling, slipping stitches, binding off, weaving in ends, seaming, blocking optional. My top as shown was left unblocked.
