Indulge in the art of knitting with the breathtaking new Pierre shawl. Its impressive size and exquisite yet relatively easy going design make it the ideal accessory for any festive occasion as well as a ski trip in the upcoming season. This shawl goes everywhere.

It's soft and it's big, in short... it's the perfect way to wrap yourself in comfort. The shawl gives you great styling options and looks fancy, yet kinda down to earth so to speak. It only takes one of our new Voluming skeins to knit, as the name suggests it's a giant skein.

The shawl is knitted side to side, slowly and constantly growing from the skinny beginning tip to a wide ribbed edge. A cable pattern done without cable needle, how convenient! A row of oversized eyelets run straight along the edge for a eye popping detail. The color is of course pretty striking as well here but there are many color options to make yours in.

The pattern is fully written, also includes charts. An updated PDF was send via email on September 19th. Part 3-Row 3: K1, YO, K to m, sl m.....

The sizes measures : 75" in overall length and 25" at it's widest edge.

The knit kits include

  • A giant skein of Voluming. Each skein measures 11" in length and holds 300 yards/200 grams in an aran weight in a wonderfully soft Acrylic. Yup, it's washable at 30 degrees in the gentle cycle. I would put it into a laundry bag or pillow case though to be safe.
  • The printed pattern and emailed PDF file.
  • All packaged in a convenient project bag.

Notions needed

  • US 17 (12 mm) circular needle 32" (81 cm) in length.
  • 4 Stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle or crochet hook for finishing

Gauge: 8 sts and 14 rows in 4" of garter stitch, counting 7 ridges.

Techniques applied:  Knitting, purling, slipping stitches, yarn overs, increasing, stretchy bind off, weaving in ends. Blocking is optional. The sample as shown was left unblocked.

Level of Expertise:  Advanced Beginner
