There can definitely be Happiness in a shawl
The happiness happens when using inspiring colors in soft yarns using an easy going design to create a comfy shawl. The shawl is knitted entirely sideways and all in one piece. Simple garter stitches, switching yarns, including two fabulous Chenilles to create great textures and some pretty awesome tonal changes. There is one surprise though, a pretty stranded flower motif in the middle. The shape is almost a triangle but with a flat bottom middle.
The pattern is fully written and offers a chart for the flowers.
The shawl measures 72" in overall length and 20" in middle height.
The knit kits include
- C1- Aran in color, a colorful aran weight in a soft acrylic yarn. 132 yards/100 grams per skein, 2 skeins used.
- C2- Allero, one skein in a DK weight held double in Tangerine color shown with 154 yards/50 grams for the flower motif.
- C3- Chenille, bulky weight as shown in brown. 40 yards.
- C4- Chenille, as above in fuchsia color, 40 yards.
- C5- Allero, as in color 2, in a light blue shown, 1 skein held double in flower motif.

Notions needed
- US 13 (9 mm) circular needle 36" (91 cm) in length.
- 3 Stitch markers.
- Tapestry needle or crochet hook for finishing.
Gauge: 9 sts and 15 rows in garter stitch with C1 yarn, aran weight .
Techniques applied: Knitting, purling, color changes, increasing, decreasing, stranded knitting, binding off loosely, weaving in ends. Blocking is optional, for my sample I opted to only block the middle stranded portion.
