Gradient Yarn Cakes
Of course we all have seen the cowls and shawls created from gradient knit kits. They are so lovely, aren't they? Well, I thought I make Gradient Yarn Cakes available to simplify the experience.
Essentially there is no joining yarn, no deciding when to change yarns, no weaving in more then the beginning and the end thread....
I even created a cowl (for now called Gradient Cowl, until a recent winner of one of my KAL's names it). This pretty cowl is knitted from just one Gradient Yarn Cake. Simply start pulling the yarn from the outer side and start knitting~ See the photos...
Each cake is special and different from the next, so they are all one of a kinds, really. The thing they have in common is that they all have the same color values and they all are created from various textures, yarn weights and colors to create the special gradient look.
Yarns in cakes may contain: linen, merino, silk, kid seta, dralon, acrylic, rayon, cotton, wool. Including quite a few hand dyed yarns.
